Mary Lambert

About Me

Hello! My name is Mary Lambert and I am currently pursuing a Master of Library and Information Studies at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in English at Concord University in Athens, West Virginia. Upon graduation, I relocated to North Carolina where I began my teaching career. After nine years of teaching high school English, I decided that it was time to explore a new path. I feel confident that my previous responsibilities as a public educator and the skills I obtained will prove to be extremely beneficial as I complete my coursework and enter the profession. Although I was originally interested in pursuing future employment within a school system, I am now intrigued by the idea of working within a public library and focusing on teen services and young adult programs. I look forward to seeing what the future holds.

 

When I am not working on my coursework, I enjoy reading a variety of literature; however, I currently have a love for Dystopian novels. I’m also passionate about photography and can often be found taking pictures of nature, friends, family, and/or anything that seems to capture my interest at the moment. When the weather is cooperative, I enjoy hiking with my husband. Perhaps my greatest pleasure is traveling. Because my father’s job required him to travel, I spent a great deal of my childhood roaming the country with my family. These adventures have sparked a love for seeing new places, meeting new people, and learning more about the world around me.
